MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN MENGENAL ANGKA MENANG SEBAGAI SARANAKOMUNIKASI MATERI BELAJAR

Abstract

This study entitled “MENANG Media for Early Childhood Number Recognition” aims to improve early childhood ability in recognizing numbers through the use of MENANG (Mengenal Angka) learning media at PAUD Ziadatul Khoer. This research was conducted because several children experienced difficulties in recognizing number symbols, mentioning numbers, and matching numbers with quantities. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this study were 18 children aged 4–5 years in group A of PAUD Ziadatul Khoer. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and performance tests, while data analysis was carried out using descriptive comparative analysis. The results showed an improvement in children’s number recognition ability after the implementation of the MENANG learning media. Most children demonstrated better performance in mentioning numbers, recognizing number symbols, and matching numbers with quantities during the post-test compared to the pre-test results. These findings indicate that the use of game-based and concrete learning media effectively supports early numeracy development. In conclusion, the MENANG learning media can be considered an effective alternative to enhance early childhood number recognition while also fostering positive learning experiences and character development in early childhood education.
