Abstract

This study looks at how using games in learning helps elementary students better understand basic Jaipong dance moves during after-school dance activities at SDN Galunggung in Tasikmalaya. The research used a quantitative method with a pretest and posttest setup. The group included 15 students from grades one to four who were part of the dance club. Information was gathered through observing the students, talking to them, and giving them tests to see how much they learned. The learning tool used was a game where students matched pictures of basic Jaipong dance moves with their correct names. The results showed a big improvement in the students’ learning, with their test scores going up from 20 to 60 before the game-based learning to 70 to 100 after. This shows that using games in learning makes the process more interesting and fun, helps students stay motivated, and improves their grasp of traditional dance movements. So, using games in teaching traditional dances can be a good way to teach young students and also help keep cultural traditions alive through education.
