Game Edukatif ‘Papanggih di Saung Alam’ dalam Pembelajaran Pendidikan anak usia dini

This community service activity aimed to improve the understanding of children aged 3–4 years in recognizing and classifying animals based on their habitats through simple game-based learning. The activity was conducted at an early childhood education institution and focused on providing meaningful learning experiences that suit the developmental characteristics of young children. The implementation method employed a descriptive-educative approach with a participatory model, emphasizing direct learning practices without ongoing cycles or experimental treatment. Children and teachers were actively involved in the learning process through the use of educational games based on local Sundanese culture, which created an engaging and familiar learning environment. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and simple assessments conducted before and after the activity to describe changes in children’s understanding. The results showed an improvement in children’s understanding of animal concepts and their habitats, increased learning engagement, and better focus during activities. In conclusion, the educational game “Papanggih di Saung Alam” was effective in supporting meaningful, enjoyable, and developmentally appropriate learning for early childhood.
