Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate how the learning and teaching processes differ in formal and non-formal educational institutions, particularly at SMA Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya and PKBM Khoiro Ummah. This study utilizes a descriptive qualitative method, which gathers data through observation, interviews, and literature review. The findings indicate that both formal and non-formal education possess unique characteristics in the application of learning strategies. It is demonstrated that the selection of contextual methods and learning strategies is essential for enhancing the effectiveness of learning in both institutions. Effective learning in both types of educational institutions can be achieved by taking into account the needs of students, the role of teachers as facilitators, and ongoing evaluation.
