Chikungunya remains a significant vector-borne threat in tropical regions, including Indonesia, where increasing incidence highlights the need for strengthened community-based prevention efforts. This community engagement program aimed to improve public knowledge and preventive practices related to chikungunya through health education and the promotion of the 3M strategy (draining, closing, and burying potential mosquito breeding sites) in RW 016, Handapherang Village, Ciamis Regency. The activity was conducted on November 9, 2025, involving 15 participants consisting of community leaders, health cadres, and local residents. The intervention included a presentation, distribution of educational stickers, and pre-test and post-test assessments to measure knowledge improvement. Findings showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge after the educational session, as indicated by the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test results (p < 0.05). This demonstrates that structured health education effectively enhances community understanding of chikungunya symptoms, transmission, and preventive measures. The program also encouraged active community participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness and implementing the 3M strategy. Overall, this initiative contributed to improving public awareness and supporting sustainable vector control efforts within the community.
