The community service program entitled “Empowering Urban Farmers through the Implementation of Techno-Aquaponic Systems for Household Food Security” was conducted to address the challenges of limited land and lack of knowledge about modern farming techniques among urban communities in Tasikmalaya. The primary objective was to enhance household food security by introducing an aquaponic system that integrates fish farming and hydroponic plant cultivation within limited residential spaces. The program was implemented through a series of stages, including socialization, technical training, installation of aquaponic units, mentoring, and the establishment of a learning community. The applied method combined participatory workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and continuous monitoring. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, with an average improvement from 40% to 85% based on pre- and post-tests. All installed aquaponic systems operated effectively, producing fresh vegetables and fish while maintaining water quality. Additionally, participants successfully developed planting schedules, feeding routines, and used logbooks for daily monitoring. The creation of educational media and a digital communication channel further supported program sustainability. In conclusion, the activity successfully achieved its objectives, providing urban families with a practical, eco-friendly solution to optimize narrow land for sustainable food production.
