Abstract

This service activity investigated the impact of prolonged drought and poor well water quality on the health of residents in Sukarapih Village, Tasikmalaya Indonesia, leading to skin diseases and other health problems. A community-based intervention program focusing on community education and empowerment to effectively manage clean water, including a household water filtration demonstration. The program aims to increase community awareness, knowledge, and skills in water management, which will ultimately improve water quality and promote a healthy environment. The stages of this community service activity are (1) selection of empowerment locations; (2) coordination to hear stakeholders; (3) Planning of Activities to be Performed; (4) Preparation of Activity Instruments; (5) Activity Implementation. The analysis results show that there is an increase in community knowledge from before socialization and after socialization, the average pre-test score is 5.80% with a standard deviation of 2.11% and post-test is 8.87% with a standard deviation of 1.24%. The creation of a community that is more concerned about water hygiene and understands how to manage clean water properly and correctly.
